Community event for Woodhouse residents
Residents at Woodhouse are being invited to a public event next week to find out more about the proposed Waverley community development.
The multi-million pound proposals by property and mining company UK COAL, will be outlined at a drop-in session at St James Church, Woodhouse on Wednesday 18 June from 5pm - 7pm.
UK COAL wants to redevelop the former surface mine site in Waverley into a sustainable high density mixed use community, including approximately 4,000 houses, community facilities and green areas.
Experts from planning consultants Atisreal will be on hand to provide information on the planned residential development, social and leisure facilities, environmental issues including sustainability, air quality, drainage, transport links and green space benefits for the residents. Information on the proposed office development will also be presented.
UK COAL is promoting a series of consultative events for locals living near the 741-acre site. The remaining sessions take place on:
Tuesday 24 June, 5pm-7pm, Treeton Reading Rooms, drop in session.
Thursday 3 July, 5.30pm-7.30pm, Aston Parish Hall, 5.30pm-6.30pm drop in session, 6.30pm presentation.
