Central Grid North

Sensitively planned residential district

This district is located between the Highfield Commercial area and the southern primary school. It represents a typical housing area for Waverley, comprising 80 per cent terraced housing and 20 per cent apartments, which overlook the open space of a neighbourhood park.

Blend of homes and open spaces

All housing is arranged in blocks, with the front of the houses facing the street and the rear facing internal gardens and parking courts. The buildings facing the open spaces are three to four storeys high, with two to three-storey buildings elsewhere. This enables the taller buildings to gain maximum benefit from views onto the parks and open spaces.

The detail:

The overall density is 55 dwellings per hectare (22/acre), which is the average for the whole development area. All parking is provided either within shared central parking courts, within individual house plots or on the street.
