All homes will have easy access to nearby green spaces, high-quality public areas and a safe, sustainable transport system giving priority to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. There will be a 20mph zone in all residential streets, with traffic-calming to 10mph in certain areas.

The residential areas at Waverley will be based on a grid layout. Terraced housing is one of the key architectural features of the residential mix and will provide maximum efficiency and will echo the using styles found in surrounding communities. To enhance energy efficiency, buildings will – where possible – be orientated for maximum solar gain, reducing energy consumption and heating costs.
